January 2009 below

I have been involved with German Shepherds for over 40 years, owning my 1st German Shepherd in 1975.

I gained my love for the breed when I was a child. I used to walk several of the neighbourhood dogs, then I started walking with two German Shepherds & their owner,as I was too young to walk them alone & I fell in love with the breed & have never looked back!

I bought a puppy (my dear Heidi) in 1975 from Barbara Threlfall, Cumnorhurst breeding,

Heidi loved obedience work & was very keen & we did well winning many 1st prizes in club & local shows.

I was introduced to breeding in the 1970's by Barbara Threlfall, Cumnorhurst German Shepherds & learned so  much from her. My lines in many of my German Shepherds go back to this breeding.

My Ginny & Inga were also Cumnorhurst breeding, both fantastic laid back temperament & greatly missed.

Now in 2017,Barbara is now 92yrs old  & sadly lost her very dear last German Shepherd in 2016, which she had bred, marvellous! A wonderful lady who always loved the breed.

Over the years I have generally enjoyed working  my dogs in obedience competitions, club competitions, enjoying quite a few rosettes & trophy's. I also Qualified C.D ex in working trials, with 2nd prize at only my 3rd Championship trial, my 4th working trial overall, with my wonderful longcoat sable Kiera (Kesyra Gypsi ) from Katrina Stevens in 1992, who has become one of my closest friends. These were the days where we worked & qualified along side the police dog handlers.Sadly Kiera died just before her 14th birthday. I had great fun, but time didn't  allow me to continue further than U.D. Kiera was one of my greatest loves, we spent so much time together training & having fun, a beautiful dog.

All my German Shepherds had faultless temperaments with my children while they were growing up & all their friends.  Now years gone by, are reliably patient & good with the grandchildren, who adore them.

In more recent years, 2001 I acquired my 1st Whippet, Barmoll Briony of Ashvillebur, our dear little "Saffie", bred by Molly McConkey.

I had thought whippets were small enough for lap cuddles, a very affectionate gentle breed, less hair,  less mud (we have very wet fields here in the winter!)

I only intended to have one or two!!

They are the dearest little dogs, so so endearing & our numbers quickly grew. Since they have come into our lives, we could not imagine life without them.

They have an extremely affectionate gentle nature, our grandchildren loved them to cuddle up with as they are smaller, this was a special treat!!

Very much Adored.

I have had little time for showing Whippets. However, although only shown a few times, the Whippets have done well & have been placed 2nd & 3rd in good classes at  Whippet club shows. Chelsea daughters Ashvillebur Jacks Jewel, Ashvillebur Amaryliss & son Ashvillebur Royal Command among Silkdance have done well in the showring & qualified for Crufts.
