Hi Pauline,
Please find some photos of Ginny enclosed. She's a fantastic dog and we love spending time with her.
Rupert and Zoe
( Phone call chat tells me).. Ginny is extremely friendly with everyone out or visiting the house. She is doing well at training class & is quiet, confident & well behaved unlike some anothers who are noisy.

GSD Finn, Kiri/Klaus son

Hi Pauline,

Sorry I haven't got round to sending some photos but I hope these taken today will show you how handsome Finn is at 18 months.

I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. Over the last year Finn  hasn't changed much - he is still a big personality with a cheeky character, always ready for fun.

He is the most intelligent shepherd we have had and is so quick to learn, especially if he thinks a treat is on offer!  He loves his food!  He is still very vocal but he is becoming calmer as he matures.

We are really pleased that he gets on so well with other dogs and has lots of pals that he meets on his walks. People often comment on what a beautiful specimen of the breed he is which is lovely!

I think these photos give an idea of his cheeky nature and we can't imagine life without him.

 Best Regards,

 Clare

(GSD Anya now 18mths) Kiri/ Klaus daughter

Hi Pauline,

I’ve been meaning to write to you for ages with an update.  I kept saying, I’ll wait until I get a couple of decent photos to send, but never seem to get anything worth forwarding.  I usually only have my phone with me when I’m out and they always come out blurred. I will get some though.  We thought we’d bring her over to see you later on in the year when we start camping again, if that’s okay.  Will obviously arrange it with you first

Anya is fine and coming along nicely, although she’s very noisy in the house sometimes – has a thing about birds in the garden, especially magpies, and launches herself at the patio window.  We are working on this – trying a different tactic now!  Outside she doesn’t even notice them.  To be fair, the only time she barks is at the birds or when my neighbour is looking after her son’s collie and when someone is at the door naturally.

She’s very good in the car, good with other dogs, and amazing with the grandchildren (15 month twin girls).

Each week we do a general obedience class, and a rally obedience class, and tracking sessions when we can (finding somewhere to do that is always a problem).  I had 3 beginner obedience/rally competitions planned to enter, but typically Anya came into season at the most inconvenient times!

She passed her Silver Good Citizens last October, and passed 2 bronze (different training clubs!) tests earlier in the year.  Going for gold at some stage, but have been concentrating on other activities.

Mabel is a Whippet Lydia /Bailey pup, who stayed a little bit longer with me because of holidays, but went to her new home at 9 weeks.

Hi Pauline,

Just a quick Mabel update for you. Well she is the most delightful and easygoing puppy - we just love her being around. She is fantastic at night - she goes to bed about 10.30/11 and sleeps through till 7am when she goes out for a wee. She will happily take herself out to the toilet during the day as long as the back door is open and if closed she will let me know she needs to go out by trotting to the door. We've only had one puddle on the floor in the whole week. We give lots of praise for her great toileting progress.

She has settled into a good routine of play/sleep/play/sleep which fits in well with our family - She has got livelier but she is still very easy - she's been out quite happily carried or in my bag on errands with us and to the vets / friends where she has enjoyed lots of attention from different people. I pop out with the children whilst she snoozes in the afternoon. In the evening she sits in my office in her big cosy bed and plays with her toys whilst I work.

She is very good at listening to me and my tone of voice and will stop what she is doing immediately if I say no to her. She does tend to be keen to nibble the children's feet and Layla's skirts are often nose height for her, meaning a very tempting nibble opportunity but they are never with her unsupervised so I am teaching her that children are not for teeth and so distract her with a toy. She gets lots of praise for being distracted successfully.

She likes 'gardening' very much (digging!) and chasing any leaf in the wind, and hanging out washing in the hope a stray sock will fall off which she thinks is wonderful! She spent a good few minutes with her head in the little hedge yesterday and emerged triumphantly with an old plastic flowerpot which she had a lot of fun with until we removed it. She has a very curious habit of liking to 'crawl' under anything that is low - she will go out of her way to crawl under a chair bar or under a low bench on her tummy! She 'sits' before her dinner always and is eating well although she prefers me to be in the room whilst eating otherwise she doesn't eat as much - any thoughts on this? She has put on weight nicely and she is in good shiny condition, happy to drink well during the day.

Anyway I hope you don't mind a long account but I just thought I would let you know how she is getting on. Thank you for sending her in such a super way with the housetraining and with a great start to her manners. She is very keen and quick to learn and she loves being made a fuss of!

(Rosie is a Quexi/Klaus pup, my Georgie's litter sister)

Hi Pauline

Rosie is nearly 11 months now so an update is long overdue. She is just the most wonderful dog and an absolute credit to you – thank you.

She has a very sweet nature and many, many friends over the fields and woods where we walk every day. She’s lovely with other dogs of all ages.If they want to play she plays, if they are too old or not playful she’ll give them space.
Whenever we meet anyone new she always waits and gives me a look back to ask if she can go forward and people in the village with new puppies have been seeking us out because she’s so gentle with them.

I have a couple of friends who are puppy socialisers for hearing dogs and she’s become their unofficial German Shepherd playmate. She’s great with people too – never bounds into anyone, always respectful of their space and wouldn’t dream of jumping up at them but very friendly when invited and always available for a game of fetch if someone wants to throw a ball for her.

From the first puppy training class I took her to it was clear she is exceptional – while all the other owners had an exasperated look each time a new command was being taught, Rosie just took it all in her stride – while I fumbled with clickers and treats and which was the right command, Rosie would give me a look that said “don’t worry – I’ve got this” she’d do whatever we were supposed to do then sit back calmly and wait patiently for the next thing. In the last class she won the prize for best and fastest recall which wasn’t a surprise to anyone.

As I’m sure you can tell I’m immensely pleased and proud to own Rosie and could literally go on for pages about how wonderful she is – thank you again for our lovely girl.

Best regards
Jane

Milo is a Quexi/Klaus male pup 2014

Hi Pauline

I hope you and Henry are well.

Just a quick note to let you know that Milo is still doing brilliantly.

He is coming out with me to the shops every day, to meet Megan at the bus stop after school, and out in the car to collect Natalie from the station.  He has met several of our family, and lots of new people from around the village, including a couple of friends' dogs and is always friendly and confident with all of them.  Everybody who has met him has fallen in love with him.

We went outside to talk to the bin men and the postman today.  We often get horse riders come down our road, so next time I hear them coming we'll pop outside and ask if they mind me chatting to them with him so he is used to them too.

We had a local dog trainer visit us a few days ago to meet him (as she runs the local puppy classes) and give us a few tips.  Since then Milo has been very well behaved and is responding well to instructions, which seems incredible given his age.

He is still sleeping well, eating very well, and is toileting outside, which is wonderful.

I attach another couple of photos for you to look at.  You can see a lot more speckles of colour coming through in his face now, and his ears are beginning to stand properly sometimes (we have taken to calling them his "big boy ears" when this happens).

I'll slow down with the updates a little now but will continue to send you pictures and things every now and again so you can see how he is doing.

Thank you again for all your help with Milo.  He really is a lovely lad and we are thrilled to have him.

Best regards

Jason

Hi Pauline,

I've got a few photos of Margot on her first birthday for you.

We spent her birthday in Ireland, driving up to Scotland and over on the Ferry, she was a fantastic girl traveling all that way, and back, and not a peep out of her.  She really is a lovely little thing and much loved by all the family.

This is Margot on 15th August, I think she enjoyed the beach, what a treat to see her jumping into the sea (and jumping out again very quickly) the sun may be shining but the sea is still a bit nippy for a soft southern Whippet.

Suzy spends all her time thinking up names for the next Whippet to join the clan, don't be surprised if we put our names down on the list again in the future.

Looking forward to sharing the pics with you,

 Kind regards,

 Howard

Dash is a Lydia/Wilbur son ( a blue whippet)

Hi Pauline,
We have been meaning to contact you to say what a lovely dog Dash is and that we are so pleased with him. He has the most sound temperament and is accepting of dogs, children and appears to have no concerns with thunder or loud noises. He loves racing around with Willy and his recall is superb. No chasing yet thank goodness and doesn't appear to be as obsessed as Willy is with squirrels or rabbits! I will send other photos through and if you like we can pop in and show you what a very handsome fine fellow of a whippet Dash is. Hope all well with you and the family. Take care Fay and Su x

Yuna is Kiri's litter sister

Dear Pauline,
I hope that you are well, and Kiri also.

Yuna is still the most wonderful companion, incredibly loved by the whole family she has such a fantastic temperament. We had her hip scored and it is quite good, i think, at 11 (6 and 5)..

Thank you so much,

Kind regards,

From Hansel's owner, a Kiri/Hugo GSD pup 2013
Hi Pauline
I will continue with the Pet Plan insurance I think as the vets seem to promote them.
Journey home was fine, he yipped and yapped most of the way, but nothing untoward on the crate bed.  He has settled in really well.  You have done such a good job with him, he asks to go outside and last night he was quiet all night. He was still quiet when I down at 7 am, in fact he must have been asleep because I startled him when I came into the kitchen and he barked at me, but was soon very pleased to see me. He has met my son and his girlfriend and they have fallen in love with him, which is good because they will dog sit for us if we go away any time.
Thank you so much for producing this lovely puppy for us.
Will keep in touch.
Best wishes Joy

Chelsea/Hugo pup 2013

Hi Pauline,

Just a quick update...Maurice and Albert have become such good friends,
wherever you find one the other will sure to be there too!

This is them on our bed!! (Clearly you can tell our house rules our fairly
relaxed).

We've also almost cracked his house training - I can't believe how quickly he's
grasped it, he's such a bright little thing. And our nights are now (only 5
nights in) blissfully quiet!

We couldn't be happier with our new baby.

Hi Pauline

Happy New Year! Jan 2011

Jon's conversation with Henry today prompted me to send some photos of our
beautiful girl. She is doing really well and still remains our most highly
pampered canine!

Not only beautiful, she has a wonderful temperament. Not an unpleasant bone
in her body! Always happy, full of life, intelligent (been doing a perfect
'down' this evening), loving, likes getting up to mischief, adores other
dogs (always up for a game) and so much fun. You can tell we love her to
bits! And yes still sleeping in our bed!

We are so lucky to have her, as I've said before. You have done a fab job
and we cannot recommend you highly enough.

Best wishes

Alison x

P.S Jon having viewed your website tells me you have two Whippet
litters......I would LOVE another of your pups, but NO I have got to stop
collecting animals, I will stop at three dogs, 3 cats and the horse!!!

Yaeger

Hi Pauline,

We thought we would give you a quick update on Yaeger and let you know how  he's doing...

Attached are a few pictures:  - He is eating well now, still on his Arden Grange with a small bit of nature diet mixed in, he loves it! We were back at the vets on Saturday and the vet was more than happy with his weight, and has therefore had his 1st jab. He didn't even fuss or make a noise when he had his jab, and the vet even commented on his calm temperament!   Yaeger is now sleeping downstairs in his crate with no bother (spent the first week in our room in his crate). The 1st few days downstairs were a challenge, but after the 3rd night, it was like someone flipped a switch and we managed to sleep through til 3am without a noise, and only then it was to let him outside. Now he goes to bed about 10.30pm without a noise or fuss, goes outside about 3am and then again at 6am when Matt gets up for work. I think we might start pushing out the time we get up with him in the night as he gets more used to lasting the night, we haven't had an accident in the crate for several nights so we are really please with him.   He has really settled now and is a big part of the family, even after 2 weeks it's hard to remember time without him. He is so loving and loves cuddles and his tummy being rubbed.

Thank you, and to Lara and Voko for allowing us to have such a lovely dog as part of the family, he has and will bring so much fun and love to our lives!

I also have to thank you for all your help and advise, and I'm sure we will be in touch with our next set of challenges :)

  Best Wishes,   Chantelle & Matt

Marley is a Lara son.

Hi Pauline

Marley is just over 1yr 7mths and has grown into a fantastic dog so I thought I'd send you a couple of pictures.

I've kept up the training and it's really paid off making it such a joy to take him everywhere. He's turned into such a perfect, adorable boy. He spends the day working with me which is great and he enjoys alot of time with the horses; he's grown up with alot of animals and dogs so I don't ever have to be worried about him around them.

I'm off to the French Alps in April carrying out a 6 month chalet renovation and obviously Marley will be coming - he's going to love spending time in the mountains so we're both looking forward to it.

I'll keep in touch and send more pics when in France.

Regards

Mark

Nyah is a Quexi daughter.
Nyah continues to be an absolute joy, although she is getting more
confident and tries to push her luck sometimes.
It is incredibly funny when she launches herself at Kia and sits on her
head and bites her ears.
She loves going for walks and is very social. It didn't take her long to
get to know the lady that hands out treats.
We regularly walk with a group of people with a lot of different dogs
and she gets on with all of them especially a little Jack Russell, they
play really well together.
The photos were taken on the 7 October in the woods opposite our house
as you can see they love the water.
Well time to get ready and take them out and then to work in the garden.

Take care.

Sam

(Whippet Lydia is a Tiggy pup)
Gosh Pauline there isn't a day that goes by without me thanking my lucky stars that we have Lydia, I really cannot believe our luck!!!
She is absolutely gorgeous and we are all smitten with her. She has slotted into the family beautifully, getting on fabulously with her Beagle brothers!! Her and Henry have particularly paired off and are often partners in crime, up to mischief, and Henry is found more often than not wedged into Lydia's bed with her on top of him!! They love a good play fight which concerned me at first but he is very gentle with her and will always let Lydia win at tug of war!!
Lydia's recall is coming on really well and she will sit and down (as long as there is something warm put on the kitchen floor so her tummy doesn't get cold!!) She is such any easy puppy and one look from those beautiful eyes makes our hearts melt. I must confess that Jon and I have become very bad owners when it comes to nighttimes............ I couldn't bear to hear her crying for her mum (I still feel haunted by the sight of Tiggy stood by the gate when we left with Lydia), so I took to having her in bed and she cuddled up all night (you did tell me she would need lots of cuddles for bonding!!). Well she was so good I'm afraid its continued although now she will sleep at the foot of the bed, getting under the covers if a bit chilly and sometimes we will wake to find her under the covers with her head on one of our pillows. I really can't believe I'm saying this after being so strict with the beagles who still remain crated at night!! The vet (also in love with Lydia), didn't blame us in the slightest!!!!
At each vaccination she has had a thorough examination and as expected all is absolutely fine. As I said before the vet is very taken with her and her beautiful markings. She wanted to know where she came from and commented on what a picture of health Lydia was in. As a breeder you have done a wonderful job and thank you again for that phone call!!!
It will be exciting this weekend when Lydia can go for her first walk!! So I'm on the hunt for a nice coat!! She does love playing in the garden with her toys, I could watch her for ages and ages, she can be so funny!!!!!
As we are concerned we have the most beautiful whippet pup on the planet!!
We will send some pics when she has grown a little more
Thank you again

                                 Poppy is a Quexi daughter
Hello Pauline
I thought you would like to hear about Poppy's latest achievement. She attends a lovely German Shepherd Training school and had a progress test on Thursday, along with the other  dogs in the classes.
Poppy walked confidently on lead, did an excellent on lead puppy recall and did not break her sit and down stay. We were delighted when she was awarded first place.
As she achieved best in class, we were given the opportunity to take the progress exam for the next class up, even though we had not worked in this class). This time the heel work was off lead, as was her recall and sit and down stays. Poppy was excellent in all of these and she won third place.
We are looking forward to attending class 2 and mixing with other dogs and learning more skills.

Hello again Pauline,

Everything is still going well, Rocky is a good little boy.  We have taught him 'Sit', which is the easy one!  And he will 'Come' if he thinks there is a treat involved.  'Down' requires more work... We are going to puppy classes in October, which should be fun for us all.

Poppy is a Quexi daughter

Hello Pauline

Poppy is an absolute delight, she is very lively but she has the most wonderful temperament.

She still trains 4 times a week and really enjoys the interaction with us handling her and also with the other German Shepherd dogs. We take her out many times a day as she has energy beyond belief. She has lost 6 teeth so far and already replaced by the adult teeth, we have had a fenced chewed beyond repair because of this, but I do feel we have got away lightly from mass destruction that other dogs can do.

Last week we took her on holiday to Somerset where she spent hours walking on the farm where we stayed, meeting sheep, horses and cows and was not fazed at all. She spent a lot of time digging in the sand too.

We would definitely like to have another pup from you in about two years. Poppy is such a social dog that we feel it would be perfect for her to have a constant companion.

Best wishes and I will continue to send updated photographs of Poppy, I will find a lovely one of her on the beach and send it to you.

Julie

Pauline HI,
I absolutely love your website and particularly your lovely words about Saffie. Sid is also a wonderful dog and he brings so much joy and happiness and is loved by so many people.
We moved house last year. Just across the river to Mortlake , infact the boat-race finish line is just in front of our garden! We still have access to the lovely tow path walks and we have benefitted from  a larger house and much larger garden. I think (hope!) this will be our life-long home.
We walk in Richmond Park regularly too , always on Sunday morning, and infact Sid was admired early one morning there by a very friendly , well-spoken elderly couple.....only turned out to be the Duke and Duchess of Kent ! Apparently they have a home in the Park.
I have to thank Sid too  as through him I met Clare Balding and I am a mad horse racing fan. We have become good friends (even attending her civil ceremony) and we have spent several weekends down at thier family stables in Kingsclere which of course is very close to you . It's amazing who you meet when you are dog walking!
We have had a villa built in NE Corfu and we go there for a month of  every year. Yes , Sid comes as we drive and he has his passport . We travel to the Italian coast and then take the ferry over.
He absolutely loves swimming and he adores diving into the pool ... I think it is one of his favourite things , well that and also being on the speed boat! He has become somewhat of a celebrity in San Stephanos and everyone fussies over him. Of course he responds in his usual aloof manner.... ! I think many people miss their pets when on holiday and they make a beeline to stroke Sid  and tell us how lucky we are to have him with us.
Sid really is a handsome lad and he gets stopped in the street all the time. He seems big for a whippet but I think being a solid colour makes him seem taller. He has a deep chest and at times can appear a bit chunky but the vet says he is in fine shape and I also wouldn't want him too skinny.
He has a great character and totally adores the people he knows well.
You might like to know that he has also appeared in a national advertising campaign !  He won a radio competition (4 dogs and 4 cats from 1000's). It was only a photo I submitted and then he ended up being on the MoreThan Pet Insurance advert. It is the one where a large dice rolls across the screen and in each face of the dice is a picture of a pet and Sid was one of them.I have to say if you blinked you missed it but it did make us laugh ! He got paid in dog food - good quality dried though!
Actually we should have known he had star quality as the first dog show he entered which was in the local pub had a massive 32 entries (not just whippets but that was the total!!) and he won best in show. As you can't ever beat that we decided not to enter anymore....
I think I've rambled on enough but I would like to thank you Pauline for allowing us to have Sid . I'm sure you can tell how much he is loved and he has just made our lives complete. Also I cannot imagine living without a Whippet now !
I've included a couple of photos for you to see how well he looks.
Best Wishes,
Derek.
Sid, below is a Saffie son.

Poppy is a Quexi daughter

Hello Pauline
I hope you are well and enjoying the summer.
I wanted to drop you an email to let you know how Poppy is getting on.
She is continuing to be a delight to us all and bringing lots of love to our family. She is incredibly lively, more than any of our previous dogs and requires an ambulance of walks a day. It is good to discover lovely new parks nearby and meeting up with other dogs which is so important for them. She is fearless and does not realise that she is still a baby. Four Labs came running up to her yesterday in the park and she wagged her tail and made new friends. At nearly 12kgs, she is getting very strong and tall but certainly not any puppy fat - I guess her constant need to exercise sees to this. She eats very well and it has never been a problem for her to be fussy with her food. She is still play biting but it is getting better, I do think at times she does not realise her own strength.
We attend puppy dog training four times a week and she responds immediately as soon as Brian puts on her working lead. She is desperate to learn and out of the puppies in the class is ranked either first or second. Her sense of smell is incredible and she has an incredible success rate of scent work, so good in fact that when I lost my car keys over a country park a few days ago, Poppy dragged me over a long distance to find them and picked them up with her mouth. (we were about five minutes walking distance from where we dropped them).
We are taking Poppy on holiday with us to a converted barn in Somerset in two weeks and are all looking forward to relaxing walks in the 30 acres the barn is housed on  and her first visit to the beach.
She is a natural water baby and swims happily in her small pool at home and also dives into the shallow streams on our walks. Bathing her is no problem at all, she loves the attention she gets.
We still have Poppy in her crate with us in our bedroom, but once the disruption of the holiday is over, our plan is to get her settled downstairs, She does get anxious when we leave the room (even for five minutes) and of course as I am at home all day it makes her used to constant attention even more. However, it is such a small thing for us to conquer, I am sure that we will succeed.
Please enjoy the photograph, she is tall and very leggy and a delightful addition to our family.
Julie and Brian

Hi Pauline,

I hope all is well with you and all your dogs.  I expect you are very busy at the moment with puppies and prospective owners!  Tiggy's puppies look gorgeous and I especially like the look of the parti-colour.

I just wanted to let you know how Roxy is getting on now she is almost a year old.  We have had a lovely year with her, she has been brilliant and we haven't had any problems at all.

She has been very well travelled and has accompanied us on holiday to the Isle of Wight and Snowdonia and visited family in Devon (twice) and Suffolk (twice).  Everybody loves her because she is so friendly, her tail never stops wagging!  She is really affectionate, michievious and literally never stops, she seems to have endless energy for a whippet and makes Rio look like the laziest dog in the world (which I think she is!).

I have sent some pictures for you from our recent holiday in Snowdonia but they're not brilliant because she never stays still long enough to get a decent picture!  If I ever manage to get a nice one I will send it to you.
Take Care

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Pauline
I hope you are well, despite your incredibly busy time with the puppies.
I have great pleasure in attaching a photograph of Poppy in our garden. She is the most sweet natured, lively, affectionate and loving puppy we could ever wish for. She is settled already into our home and loves everyone that comes to the house and makes a great fuss of them.
She is showing signs of being very inquisitive and looking to get into everything, exploring the house and the garden. She is happier when she is outside, and we are delighted that she is happily content at times doing independent playing  which is great as she is showing great signs for being an independent dog. I have to say with great pleasure that she is house trained already. We showed her "the spot" in the garden for her to use and to this day, she has not had any accidents in the day and night which is staggering as she is only seven weeks. Already she has learnt the word "sit" and "come" and Brian is able to do puppy recall with her. She is eager to please us and we truly believe she will be an incredibly easy girl to train.
We have had challenging nights where she was upset about going to sleep, but last night was a great success and she slept through the night quiet (and clean). We are taking her out (holding her) for walks so she can get used to smells, sounds and movement and at this stage, does not seem bothered by anything that comes her way. We will continue to socialise her with people, road traffic etc so when she does get to that "fearful age" she has already been introduced to it. She was inquisitive with the sprinkler in our garden and every time the sprinkle rotated, she would take a step closer. Eventually she sat on top of the sprinkler bathing in the cool water on such a hot day. I guess water will never be a fear for her.
She had her vet check yesterday and slept through most of it, when she woke up, she gave such love to the vet which was lovely.
Thank you once again for bringing Poppy into our lives.

Hi Pauline,
I thought I'd send you a quick few pictures of Marley now that he's 10.5months old. You'll notice the 'hay bale' photo and the great likeness to his father Hector!

Marley is doing so well and is such a friendly lad towards all people and animals. I've had no issues with him whatsoever. I thought it would be hard to find another wonderful dog like my last one, Sam, but Marley is quickly learning!

Kind Regards

Mark

Bobby below is 8mths

Hello Pauline,
I hope you and all the lovely dogs are well. It's such exciting news about Carla; she really is a beautiful little girl.
Bobby is great. He passed his Kennel Club Good Citizen Puppy Foundation Stage class a few weeks ago. The trainer said he has done really well for a whippet, as they are usually difficult to train. He's my little star!
I attach some pictures I took of him today on a visit to see my daughter in Southsea. He dipped his toes in the sea, which was a new experience for him!
He's such a friendly little lad, he's made lots of human and doggy friends out on walks; everyone loves him. I've had lots of comments about what beautiful markings he has.
I hope all goes well with puppies for Tiggy, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her.
Very best wishes,Kathy

 Louis is a Lara son

Hello Pauline, here is an update on Louis, who is now eight months old. We are going to weekly Obedience classes with an ex-Crufts trainer, Maureen Shelley, and he is doing well. He is extremely dominant and Maureen has said that he is highly intelligent, which is great but doesn't make training any easier as he is deciding to do what he wants to do rather than what he is being told to do, but she says that we have to be very strict with him as he wants to be the leader of the pack and we can't let him be. However, the training is teaching him to listen and do as he's told more, but the treats are the answer as he will do anything in the world for a treat. It will be some time before he can get his puppy awards but he is calming down a lot and is beginning to conform more. Luckily, one of my children was a very difficult teenager so I have had some practice in wilfulness! His temperament is wonderful but he still has a tendency to chase cars so we dare not ever let him off the lead, which is a shame. All in all, he's doing well.

Hello Pauline,

I have really been meaning to contact you for such a long time and can't believe that I haven't managed it.  When you called last year and missed me a few times, my father was very ill and then died, so I just never got around to getting back to you. But the thought was there. Well, what can I tell you? Kaiser is the most handsome dog on the planet (in case you didn't already know that).

He has the most majestic poses, my favourite being the one where he looks very much like his father in the shot of him over the bale of hay.

He is super intelligent (he gets that from his mother -that's me!), and I am afraid he is as bold as anything, which is all my fault because I spoil him rotten! Can't help it.

Kaiser came 'first' in his puppy training class, although that was quite some time ago.  We also had a trainer that came to the house for a while last year, and he responded very quickly showing what a clever boy he is; so he isn't uncontrolled if that's how I've made it sound , just more spoilt than my other two were. He actually loves doing training exercises and he is fabulous at the agility course we have in the garden.

I would love to bring him over to see you.  He is great in the car and loves it, doesn't care where we are going as long as he goes too.  The day I brought him home he got sick on the journey and then again the next few times I took him, but I was determined to persevere, as Blitz our Doberman had got sick on his first trip home and was always a nightmare from then on wining continuously, you couldn't take him anywhere for pleasure.

If you open a car door even to off load the shopping or my girls have arrived, and are taking their bags out of the car,  Kaiser jumps straight in and sits there until he is sure you are not about to drive away without him.

He also knows where we are going, depending on which keys I pick up; I assume they make different noises.  If it is the car key, he runs out, circles the car twice and waits for the boot to be opened, the kennel keys, then he runs ahead of me up the hill; or the office keys, he runs straight to the office.

He loves to play find, and is extremely fast on his feet.  He has a superb temperament, loves people and other dogs. (Had a thing about people in caps when he was a puppy, but we trained him out of that.) He is happiest when there are lots of people in the house, sulks a bit when it is just the two of us and thinks he should have my full attention.

Let me know if you would like us to pop round to see you some time, or if you would like to pop into us.

Best wishes and kindest regards,

 Mandy

Marley is a Lara son

Hi Pauline,

Thought you may like to see a few pics of Marley - he's 7mths old and growing so quick. He passed the Good Citizen Puppy Foundation with flying colours in January so we are now working towards the Bronze and hope to take it in the Summer. He's doing so well and has been socialised from an early age so he's no problem at all with friends, work colleagues, dogs and even cats! Such a great calm nature and gorgeous looking too. We are going to spectate dog agility / working trials and may consider training Marley in the future.                                 Regards Mark

Handsome Marley 19wks, a Lara son
Marley's nearly 20 weeks and as you can see he's growing into a real handsome chap. He's doing really well at puppy training and in January he's doing his Good Citizen Puppy Foundation Certificate which he is expected to pass with flying colours! Once he has achieved this, he is going on to the next stage.
He's very socialable and loves everybody....everybody loves him too. He works with me and as you can imagine gets loads of attention. He always knows when it's time to behave and time to play! He's even sat in on a few meetings with me!
There is quite alot of livestock in my area and he's been as good as gold with the animals. He has a few doggy friends and is always up for a play...sometimes a little too much!! Hope all is well with you and you have a good Christmas and New Year.
Regards Mark

Hello Pauline,
I hope you and all your family are well.
Bobby is great, growing before my eyes! I'm not very good at taking pictures, but you  can see how long his legs have grown. He's such a lovely dog in every way, very gentle and affectionate.
I had a little bit of a problem getting him to walk on a lead. I got a little leather harness for him, as I was worried he would slip out of a collar, but he just about refused to walk, started backing up, trying to get out of the harness (I gather digging their heels in is not unusual for whippets!) I searched the internet, and found the harness he's wearing. It's lovely and
soft, clips round behind his ribs, so there's nothing to rub him anywhere.
He loves it and now walks beautifully on a lead, tail up, ears alert, no pulling.
The harness was from Jan's gifts online, I can definitely recommend them, very quick service:We're gradually building up the length of walks- he's doing about a mile, although he's eager to do more.
